A Broad Spectrum of Customers.
Satisfying customers across Western New York—and throughout the country—keeps us the top choice for businesses both large and small. And because we deal with a broad spectrum of customers, we have access to many more factories and distributors than our competitors.
Colleges and Universities

Syracuse University has been a long-time customer of Maziuk’s. The Lock Shop and Facilities Services Departments rely on their knowledge and expertise for the hardware needed to maintain the needs of the campus.

Colleges and universities rely on our direct access to thousands of security products…
Not all colleges and universities have exactly the same needs for security products. But they do have one thing in common: they can count on Maziuk to deliver the right solutions.
With universities, we generally deal directly with their employees, including construction and design departments as well as buildings and grounds supervisors. The array of security products on any given campus is wide-ranging, and the needs of one university is likely entirely different from the needs of another.
Satisfying these demands calls for access to a huge array of different products—and Maziuk has it. We buy directly from the companies under the umbrella of the three major manufacturers in the industry—Allegion, Assa Abloy and Dorma Kaba.
While this access to inventory is critically important, we’re proud that our initial contacts with many school and university customers evolved from simply handling small items, things that others perhaps didn’t know where to find or where to start. But we did…and today we continue to meet their needs on a much larger scale.
Since most college and university campuses grow and develop over the years, updates or additions to older buildings are commonplace. In these cases, the original specs for security may be unknown or simply don’t meet new criteria. Our experience allows us to react, recommend the best solutions, and quickly provide exactly the right products to do the job.
Major Construction Companies

We have worked with Maziuk Wholesale for a long, long time. When it comes to understanding the market and the lock needs of our customers, they are second to none.

We help construction companies meet widely varying demands…
When a major construction company undertakes contracts, the hardware security needs may vary widely depending on the size and scope of the projects.
However, one aspect is a constant: locksmiths handling installation need exactly the right products, and they need them on time. For us, that means having the product in stock—or having the ability to get it extremely quickly. And our major construction customers know they can rely on us in either situation.
On the many occasions when we are working with a construction company from the start of a project, we’ll know at what stage in the building process they will need certain products. If they say they’ll need them in eight weeks, we will have them on hand after six weeks.
But change is almost inevitable in any large construction project. Suddenly a changing need may call for a different product. No supplier is faster than Maziuk in obtaining and delivering the exact product on time—and at a competitive market price.
Some projects for bid allow potential suppliers some leeway in determining the best products to use and the number needed. Our recommendations, based on our experience and expertise, often prove the most cost-effective for the construction company.
Medical Centers

The requirements of a pharmaceutical company in maintaining their site per FDA regulations are strict and unforgiving. When we explain the situation to Maziuk, they know exactly what we need, and nine times out of ten they have it in stock.
— RS Integrated Supply (for Lotte Biologics)
Major medical centers trust us for their major security needs….
Security is a priority in virtually every workplace today, but perhaps nowhere is it more critical than medical centers—and we are proud to list several major ones among our customers.
The expertise and experience of our people enable them to meet precise specifications, but also often help them be more cost-effective.
For example, a new or renovated area of a medical center may call for a series of widely differing types of security door hardware, possibly starting with ADA-compliant doors into a waiting area, followed by different types of secure access doors beyond, and then branching into more options with yet-again different security mechanisms.
Our experts review the architectural specs to confirm they will provide the intended security, and, if not, will make suggestions for the exact part that will do the job. By bringing our experience to bear to assure accuracy upfront, we save the facility time as well as money.
Providing this value-added service to med centers—and to all customers—is at the heart of the strong relationships we’ve been able to build throughout our four decades in this business.
Locksmiths

Often a locksmith sends us a photo and asks: ‘Can you get me one of those?’
And our answer almost always is, ‘Yes.’
— Jack Severance, Maziuk
We supply the quick turnaround that locksmiths depend on…
In many cases, locksmiths don’t know exactly what product they’ll need when they respond to a customer’s call. From the job site, they often send us a photo of the device, confident we have the knowledge and experience to identify it and the product needed to replace it.
For them, time is money. They don’t want to make multiple trips to the site to handle the job. In a great many cases, because we are familiar with the locksmith’s customer—and we have a huge inventory in stock—we will have the item immediately available.
If not, however, they know we have the catalogs, the internet access—and the knowledge—to find exactly what is needed and to get it to them in just a few days.
Our ability to identify a product from a photo is no small achievement. Many manufacturers make similar-looking products, but the parts are not interchangeable. Our experience allows us to know the subtle differences and save the locksmith labor and time.
A common locksmith’s task is to provide a key to open a specific lock. With a photo from the locksmith and our knowledge, we generally can choose the key blank they need from the 80,000 in our inventory.
Most importantly, we build strong relationships with our locksmith customers. They know they can call us, get a fair price for what they need, and get the product quickly.
